One of the most exciting events during Janmashtami is the Dahi Handi ceremony, especially popular in Maharashtra. Inspired by Krishna's playful nature, groups of young men, known as Govindas, form human pyramids to reach and break a pot filled with curd, symbolizing Krishna's love for butter.

Special Foods and Prasad:

A special aspect of Janmashtami is the preparation of Prasad, which often includes Krishna’s favorite foods like butter, milk, and sweets such as Panchamrit, Makhan Mishri, and laddus. These are offered to the deity during the puja and then distributed among the devotees.
